The story began in 1976,when a woman identified by her only
name Visala went to work in the fields outside her home in Inayatpur Village in Majahwan town.Uttar Pradesh State in Northern India.
Visala was bitten by a snake as she was working in the fields.Being unconscious family members thought her to be dead,performed her "last rites" and threw her body into a river.
Visala appeared on her daughters doorstep after 40 years and claimed she was not bitten or killed by a snake but only lost consciousness,according to a report by Times of India.
She was rescued by a fisherman and could no longer remember who she was,Visala revealed.She lived 40 years away from her family until she regained her memory and decided to return home.
