The 33-year-old defender and captain of Southampton Fc has handed in a transfer to the club despite
the club seeking to increase his salary.The player is gearing to ply his trade at a different club as rumors linking him to Man United is intensifying by the day.
Southampton's director of football,Les Reed,claims the defender has requested to leave the club despite the club offering to improved terms.
Mr. Reed told BBC radio solent,"He's had several opportunities to improve the contract situation.He's reserved his right not to that.He's made it very clear he'd like to explore the opportunities for a Transfer."
"That's where we are at the moment.Jose wants to leave the club.He has formally asked for a transfer"
Meanwhile,the club is yet to receive any formal bid for the Portuguese defender.
