.The city has emerged a global and business hub of the middle and Asia as a whole.Most of Dubai revenue comes from tourism,real estate,tourism,financial services etc.
In 2012 it was ranked the 22nd most expensive city in the world and the most expensive city in the middle east.
Dubai was primarily a desert region with minor development.Upon dicovery of oil in 1966 and revenue flowing from 1969,the began to see a face lift.Major development started in the early 90's.As of 2016 Dubai's GDP was around $150 billion with $55 000 as per capita.
