According to Dr. K.K Sarpong who is the chairman
of Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC), they are ready to withdraw their sponsorship of the national team and focus on the local league. GNPC is prepared to distribute it's sponsorship deal to benefit each
team base on the team's position on the premier league table which wasn't the case previously.This has caused an uproar among football fans in Ghana since obviously the bigger and richer teams will always be at the top of the league ,they'd be earning much from this deal and leave the lesser team with a meagre amount from the sponsorship deal thereby giving them less power in the transfer market.
Majority are hoping that all teams should benefit equally from the sponsorship deal.
