The back and forth never seems to end.Is the minority
blowing the issue out of proportion or the actions of Hon. Otiko refusing to apologize for the so-called unsavory remarks towards Ex Pres Mahama eating them up so much that they have to be a torn in her flesh.
Hon. Otiko,criticized the ex Pres extensively on some of his policies especially the SADA .
With colossal amount of money pushed into the SADA project for the rearing of guinea fowls and planting of trees; a project which sought to create a lot of jobs to ease the unemployment problem at the three northern regions and eventually alleviate poverty ended falling into a ditch.
$300 million went into the project which is yet to be accounted for .This didn't sit well with individuals from the northern sector and the Hon. Otiko Djaba isn't an exemption .
The guinea fowls, we were told flew to Burkina Faso and all the trees go burnt. This begs the question,"how is it possible"? Majority of Ghanaians were upset and began questioning the integrity of the government and it's appointees.$300 million went down the drain and a cent cannot be accounted for .The honorable minister became so outspoken, criticized the then President labeling him as evil , wicked etc.
This remarks became an issue when she was being vetted to hold position of the Minister Children and women affairs.The minority members on panel reminded her of her remarks and required she apologizes to the ex Pres.The honorable minister stuck by her remarks and refused to do so.It went on further from Hon Alhassan Suhuyini ,Mp for Tamale North to Hon. Idrissu, the Minority leader but yet She stood her ground referring to her remarks not as insult as they claim but criticism.
With her not doing her national service couple with this, the Minority agreed not to approve her for the position.Disrespecting the ex Pres with such insults doesn't make her suitable for the ministerial position ,the minority says ,ready to seek court action to get her redrawn from holding the position.
One will ask , is it her refusal of not doing the national service or the supposed insults rained on the ex Pres that's why the minority is acting that way? Do you find her words towards the ex Pres offensive for her to apologise ?
