The longest serving German Chancellor meets Donald trump at the White House
to have a discussion how best to boost the Transatlantic Alliance, issues concerning NATO etc
At the News Conference ,Donald Trump pinned Merkel for Germany to reach NATO's spending target. The U.S president further urged the rest of the NATO members to do same for they owe a lot in past years. The two had discussions with different views on immigration, trade and of course Russia. The conversation was marred with some pale moments due to opposing views on the talking points.
Donald Trump who lashed out on Merkel for allowing immigrants to troop Germany had the news conference on friday at the Oval Office in which Merkel appeared relaxed with her legs crossed whereas Trump could be seen seated straight with legs opened and hands held together most of the time..Though he shook her hand upon meeting her for the first time at the White House but refused to do same upon the request of cameramen ."Would you like a handshake" Merkel said to trump as she leaned towards him but Trump didn't even turn to her and refused to respond.
The two leaders when asked about reporters how their meeting went, they both claimed the meeting went "Good".They shook hands after the news conference and left through the East Room at the Oval office.
Was it deliberate act of Trump refusing to shake her hand upon request of Merkel and the reporters or just unintentional.Share your views...
