Issa Hayatou's 29-year reign is over

Ahmad Ahmad ,the FA chairman of Madagascar
has been elected as the new CAF chairman with a 14votes margin.
Issa Hayatou's lose had come as a shock to many who saw him as favorite.

The 57year old father of two became the FA chairman of Madagascar in 2003 after his footballing and coaching days.
Mr.Ahmad had 34 votes against Issa Hayatou's 20 votes.His election has ended Hayatou's reign which commenced in 1988 and has seen number of African countries participation in the world cup increased.

Ahmad to reporters after the win,
" When you try to do something, you mean that you can do it .If I can't do it ,I never stand.".
Mr Ahmad is eager to work with the continent's ex players to help boost African sports, according to sports
