Social media was in tailspin when photos inmates in Leeuwkop prison
were treated to a meals from KFC.
Most South Africans were very angry upon seeing that and couldn't hide it.As reported by the Star Radio in south Africa,these inmates are convicted killers,rapists etc and most feel they deserve worst prison treatment and not feeding on pricey food .Total number of inmates fed were 900 in total and total cost of food is almost $5000.
Although, most saw nothing wrong with that ,the majority couldn't bear the thought of using the taxpayers money to purchase fancy foods for convicted felons.
An angry south African ,who uploaded photos of the incident on his Facebook page left this post as well...
"South Africa had one of the highest crime rates in the world,yet we feed our criminals KFC.This is Gauteng MEC Nkosi-Malobane handing over KFC to inmates during a Maroka Swallows VS Sundowns soccer game at Leeuwkop.We are confused as to why taxpayers should fork out money for KFC when children don't have school books & people are homeless .Is this good + Will it help rehabilitate them? Why do criminals deserve this ? Please help us understand. GP,JOHANNESBURG,SANDTON,LEEUWKOP PRISON."
