2017 might win the award for the year of beefs in Gh music
if the back and forth between artists continue.
One of the renowned beef this year is the war of words between The Dancehall King ,Shatta Wale and Hip Life artist Ponobiom formerly Yaa pono.This beef has gotten the reaction of many music heads and some journalists,notably Kwame Sefa Kanyi of Peace fm and Bola Ray of star fm both calling Shatta Wale to order.
Ex Doe has also taken a bite of the beef claiming it could turn deadly.Social media is in a frenzy as music lovers are in a huge debate as to who is urging the other in the beef.So far the odds are against Shatta Wale after Ponobiom released his diss 'Gbee Naabu'(Dog Mouth) aimed at Shatta.
One will ask what birthed this beef.it all started when it was perceived that Shatta Wale ,as a headline artist at the Mega show in Cape coast prevented Ponobiom from performing.This obviously didn't sit too well with Ponobiom criticizing the SM boss heavily.
With Shatta known for making videos spitting venom on his rivals ,he went that path promoting Ponobiom to react.These set them to take it to wax.Ponobiom spilled the first blood ,'Noko',touting the Dancehall King.He claimed Shatta can't do him anything per his assertions .Shatta responded with 'Say Fi' going at Pono from all angels.

.The song generated a lot of buzz for the time until the 'Gbee Naabu' .Ponobiom went hard on Shatta,addressing his appearance and all.'Gbee Naabu' is the most talked diss track of all,claims a lot of rap fans.(Listen here)
Upon releasing a video on his Facebook page voicing out some disparaging remarks about Pono's older folks et al ,he has released another diss track directed at Ponobiom and also Iwan,an old rival.Shatta's new diss track 'one man killer'(Listen Here) addresses his current beef with Ponobiom and Iwan who is entering the beef taking sublimal shots at Shatta.
Another beef that is brewing seriously is Quatta and Sarkodie.It all began when Sark took shots at Quatta on his track 'shout'.The Old G,Quatta has vowed to destroy the BET winner's career.
In response to Sark,he has released 'Death to Sark',a 9-minute vicious diss song (Listen Here) aimed at Sark.The floating rap fans are 'vibing' with the song.Question on most fans lip is whether Sark will respond or not.
Arguably some of the dopest emcees in Gh are going at each other aggressively. Will it Stay on Wax or it might be taken to the streets? Are we to see more of these beefs coming ? Is it worthy of the rap game to have or encourage beefs? Who is winning so far...
